ITALY, Venice, Lodovico Manin (1789-1797), gold zecchino, obv. Doge kneeling before St. Mark, rev. Christ standing within stars, (KM.140); together with Turkey, Mahmud II (A.H. 1223-1255, A.D. 1808-1839), gold half hayriye altin, year 22, (KM.637). Both holed, otherwise very fine. (2)
Ex Roy Coote Collection, the first coin with a letter dated July 27, 1945 to Australian Museum seeking identification of the coin from Roy Coote (response probably from D. Elliot Smith but unfortunately not signed).
