HEAD, Barclay V., Synopsis of the Contents of the British Museum, Dept. of Coins and Medals, A Guide to the Principal Gold and Silver Coins of the Ancients from circa B.C. 700 to A.d.1, London, British Museum, 1881, 128 + viiipp., 70 plates of superb quality. Fine, hard bound with half leather and marble boards, some detached of inside spine and several pages heavily toned or stained, plates fine, very scarce.

Ex Dartford Public Library. This is an important illustrated reference book on the main Greek coins held by the British Museum and was the precurser to the famous BMC catalogues on Greek Coins.
