TRAJAN, (A.D. 98-117), silver brockage denarius, issued 114-117, Rome mint, (3.205 grams), obv. laureate draped and cuirassed bust to right of Trajan, around IMP CAES NER TRAIAN OPTIM AVG GERM DAC, rev. incuse of the obverse, (cf.S.875-994). Fine and very rare.

Brockages of Roman Imperial denarii of this period are very rare and the first of Trajan seen by this cataloguer.
