AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, Lyons mint, issued 15-13 B.C. (3.75 grams), obv. bare head of Augustus to right, around AVGVSTVS DIVI F, rev. IMP X in exergue, bull butting to right, (cf.S.486, RIC 167a, C.137, BMC 451). Nearly very fine and rare.

Ex. B.A. Seaby, London, March 1989. The bull is possibly symbolic of the dominant power of Rome, especially in Gaul.
