ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras) under Hannibal, (212-209 B.C.), silver reduced nomos, (3.956 grams), obv. jockey on horseback to right, crowning horse with wreath, holding palm branch in his left hand, beneath horse **KRITO S*, rev. Phalanthos, naked astride dolphin to left, holdin Nike in left hand, trident in other hand, monogram **EPK* to left and OH monogram on right, **TAPAS* below, (S.383, Vl.978 [same dies], SNG ANS 1269). Extremely fine and rare.
