IRELAND, Hiberno-Norse issue penny, late Phase VI, end of 11th century and early first half 12th century, (0.206 grams), obv. derived from left profile bust of Aethelred II, rev. long cross type similar to that of Aethelred II, with hands in opposite corners, lis in one corner, (S.6136, SCBI Ulster [1984], Nos. 372 [same dies], cf.Spink 'Viking' Sale March 14, 2001 lot 1146). Cracked fine, fragile and very rare.
