WESTERN SAMOA, one pound, early undated type, S.No.31577, signed Geo. W. Forbes (Minister of External Affairs for New Zealand) and J.Proud (Secretary to the New Zealand Treasury). Similar to (P.8b) but an earlier undated issue and signature combination, very fine and rare.

The first Territory of Western Samoa one pound treasury notes were issued dated 3rd March 1922, (S.Nos 00001 to 25,000). The next issue was dated 1925. That was followed by this undated series which was probably issued in the late 1920s or early to mid 1930s.
