U.S.A., Rhode Island ship medal 1779, in brass, wreath below ship. Holed for suspension otherwise nearly very fine and very rare.

Struck in England for propaganda to persuade the Dutch not to sign the Treaty of Armed Neutrality in December 1780. The obverse depicts the flagship of Admiral Howe, the reverse the retreat of American forces from Rhode Island in 1778.
