CRUSADER COINAGE, Tripoli, Raymond III, (1152-1187), copper pourgeoise (1.45, 1.03, 1.64 grams), 'star crescent type, Sabine 4', struck c.1164-1173, obv. eight pointed star and crescent, rev. cross fleury, with lis in angles, (Metcalf 518, Sch. IV/6, Mal.12). Fair - very fine, all scarce. (3)

Ex Mathew Rich Collection, first originally from B.A. Seaby, Coin & Medal Bulletin February 1981 (P21), second and last from Alex Malloy list 37, April 1994 (1385), and list 35, April 1993 (851),and all listed with CNG Sale 53 March 2000, (lot 2046, US$100).
