MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.192 grams), Babylon mint, issued c.311-305 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram MTP (dot in P variety) in wreath below throne, MI to left, ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 3752, BMC 3752, M.735, cf.Armenak Hoard Nos. 138-9). Small flan, otherwise very fine/good very fine.
