MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.878 grams), Myriandrus mint, issued 325-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram of BAI to left, MI monogram under throne, to right **[ALEX]ANDROU, below **[BA]SILEUS*, (cf.S.6713, Price 3228, BMC 3228a-c, M.-, Demanhur 2796-2819). Corrosion and deposits attached to the coin, off centred reverse, otherwise good fine.
