MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), posthumous issue on broad flan, silver tetradrachm, (16.538 grams), Temnos mint, issued c.188-170 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin without a dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left oenochoe to right under vine-tendril, under arm EXENI/KOS in two lines, in exergue **GEITAS*, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 1690, BMC 1690a-b, M.966, Tell Kotchek Hoard 154 ff.). Well centred with dark tone, good very fine and rare.

The last and only issue of Temnos with two full readings of the names of magistrates, they being Exenikos and Geitas.
