SICILY, Syracuse, (c.486-479 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.180 grams), obv. cantering quadriga driven to right by bearded male charioteer, Nike flying right crowning horses, line border, rev. **SUPAKOSION around to right, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, hair slightly waved and turned up behind under diadem of beads, four dolphins around, (cf.S.914, Boehringer 176 [same dies No.V77/R122], Naville 5 [lot 1032 same dies], SNG Ash.1921 [same dies]). Attractive toned, very fine and very rare.

Boehringer notes only two examples from these dies, both cited above.
