ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (4th century B.C.), silver diobol, (1.064 grams), obv. head of Athena with full face partially to right, wearing three crested helmet on which is Skylla, rev. infant Herakles naked facing and leaning on left knee, strangling serpent in both hands, in exergue a thunderbolt, (S.-, Vl. 1454 [This Coin]). Good very fine and extremely rare.

Ex Vlasto Collection and previously from the Nervegna Collection sold by Sambon & Canessa, Paris at auction, November 18, 1907, (lot 462 [p.34] described as very rare).
