ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (272-235 B.C.), silver stater, (6.376 grams), obv. naked rider, being crowned by Nike, on stationary horse to right, EY to right, below traces of **DAMOKRITOS*, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to right, holding trident and cornucopiae, below TAPA**S* above on left monogram of **IWPU* (S.-, Vl.918 [This Coin], SNG ANS 1234 [same dies]). Toned, well centred reverse, extremely fine and scarce type.
