LESBOS, Mytilene, c.490 B.C., electrum hekte (2.496 grams), Bodenstedt dates 521-478 B.C., obv. lion's head with open jaws to right, rev. calf's head to right, incuse, (S.4240 [£600]; Bodenstedt 13, McClean 7967, Weber 5603-4, Boston 1681, BMC 18, SNG Fitz. 4337). Striking cracks in the edge, otherwise good very fine/extremely fine and rare.
