ITALY, Lucania, Thurium (Thourioi), (c.400-350 B.C.), plated silver stater, (5.606 grams), obv. crested helmeted head of Athena to right ornamented with figure of Scylla, rev. bull butting to right, **[QOURIWN] / SIM* above, trident in exergue, (cf.S.447, SNG Cop. -, cf.SNG ANS 1090, HN 1843). Some plating removed exposing the copper core, otherwise good fine, and a rare variant.

The normal silver coin should weigh about 7.9 grams,
