PAIR TO DOW: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 3621 Pte C.H.Smith. 2 Bn. A.I.F. Both medals impressed. No ribbons, some contact marks on reverse of first medal, second medal with some oxidation spots, otherwise very fine.

Charles Henry Smith, labourer, age 33, born at Curlewis, NSW; Enl.25Oct1915 at Holdsworthy, NSW; Emb.Jan1916 with 8 Reinf 19 Bn; TOS 2 Bn 14Feb1916; WIA 24Dec1916, shell wounds leg and forehead, France; DOW 27Dec1916 at 36th Casualty Clearing Station; Buried at Heilly Station Cemetery, near Corbie, France.
