SICILY, Syracuse, reign of Hieron II, (275-215 B.C.), AE 26, (17.80 g), obv. diademed head of Hieron beardless to left, uncertain (rudder) behind, rev. horseman prancing to right, holding spear couched, beneath **F*, in exergue IEP**WNOS*, (S.1221, SNG Cop. 842, BMC 595, SNG ANS 825-6). Extremely fine/good very fine with attractive chocolate patina.
