FAUSTINA SENIOR, wife of Antoninus Pius, (died A.D.141), silver denarius, (3.630 grams), issued after 147, Rome mint, obv. draped bust to right of Faustina, around DIVA FAVSTINA, rev. throne, against which rests a transverse spear upon which is placed a wreath, around AVGV STA, (S.4590, BMC 454, RIC 377, RSC 131). Lightly toned, nearly extremely fine.
