DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 85, (9.982 grams), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XI CENS POT P P, rev. two oval shields crossed, with vexillum, spears, trumpets in background, S C across field, (S.2792, RIC 267, C.537). Light attractive dark brown patina, some reverse corrosion, otherwise very fine, scarce in this condition.
