EUBOIA, Histaia, (3rd century B.C.), silver tetrobol and diobol?, (2.014, 1.148 grams), obv. nymph Histaia head to right wreathed with vine, hair rolled, rev. nymph Histaia seated to right on galley, trident head below, partial legend **ISTIAEWN around, (cf.S.2497, cf.SNG Cop. 531 and SNG Lockett 1799, the diobol not published). Good very fine/ good fine, the diobol aparently unpublished and extremely rare. (2)

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 67 (lot 1672). The weight 1.148 grams for what appears to be of a limited circulation coin of good style is less than half 0f the expected weight of a tetrobol and consequently suggests an limited issue of a diobol for this city, the first part of the ethnic **IST is also discernable on the left field.
