SICILY, Syracuse, reign of Hieron II, (275-215 B.C.), AE 19, (5.906 grams), obv. head of Poseidon to left, wearing tainia, rev. ornamental trident-head between two dolphins dividing **IER WNOS*, o **F* below, (S.1223, BMC 611, McClean 2927, SNG ANS 964ff.). Brown patina, good very fine and scarce.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously acquired from Judd at York, England, January 1992.
