SICILY, Syracuse, period of Timoleon, (344-336 B.C.), AE 27, (20.092 grams), obv. head of Zeus Eleutherios laureate to left, around traces of **IEUS ELEUQERIOS*, rev. free horse prancing to left, **SURAKOSIWN*, (S.1191, BMC 311-312, SNG ANS 533-541, Weber 1651). Portrait very fine, otherwise nearly very fine and very scarce.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously acquired from Minns in September 1978.
