SICILY, Syracuse, period of Timoleon, (344-336 B.C.), AE litra, (AE 29), (34.370 grams), obv. head of Athena wearing Corinthian helmet to left bound with olive wreath, to left [**S*YRA], rev. starfish between two dolphins with central pellet, (S.1189, BMC 287, SNG ANS 454-469, Weber 1630). Black shiny patina, otherwise nearly very fine and very scarce.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection with his ticket and previously acquired in London in April 1983.
