CONSTANTIUS II, (A.D. 337-361), gold solidus, Thessalonica mint, issued 347-355, (3.942 grams), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed to right, around D N CONSTANTIVS MAX AVGVSTVS, rev. Roma and Constantinopolis seated enthroned facing, each support between them a shield inscibed VOT/XX/ MVLT/XXX around legend GLORIA REI PVBLICAE, in exergue star TESSL star, (cf.S.3988, RIC 153 [R2], C.122). Good fine and a very rare variety.
