BAKTRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrios I, (c.200-185 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.72 g), obv. draped bust of Demetrios to right wearing elephant skin head-dress all within dotted border, rev. youthful Herakles standing facing crowning himself holding club and lion skin, to left **DHMHTPIOU* and PK monogram, to right **BASILEWS, (S.7526, SNG ANS 187, Bopearachchi Series 1D, No.1 [Pl.4], M.103d). Very fine in high relief, light surface porosity near edges on reverse a rare variant.
