THRACE, Byzantion, (c.340-320 B.C.), silver siglos (Persian standard), (5.33 g), obv. cow standing to left, on dolphin to left, foreleg raised, above **PU, rev. quadripartite incuse square of mill-sail pattern, (S.1579, SNG BMC Black Sea 21ff. [siglos], SNG Cop. 476). Nearly extremely fine, well centred and rare in this condition.

Ex I.S. Wright, Sydney, February 27, 2004, acquired from Noble Numismatics Auction Sale 74 (lot 4446).
A similar piece was struck for the twin city on the other side of the Bosphorus.
