INTERCOLONIAL EXHIBITION, Victoria, 1866-67, in bronze (220mm) uniface electrotype by C.Summers, awarded to 'J.Politz & Co', impressd in relief. Mounted in a wooden frame (glazed), good extremely fine.

J.Politz & Co, tobacco merchants of Bourke Street, Melbourne, Class III, Section 7, entry 197, award for tobacco. Julius Politz, originally from America, set up the first tobacco plantation in Victoria in 1862 at Tirhatuan Farm on Melbourne's outskirts.
