ABORIGINAL BREAST PLATE OR MEDAL, Royalty type, inscribed 'Count Dorsay' within an inner circle, below an emu, kangaroo and crown, all within an outer geometric design on a round copper disc (51mm), holed at top for suspension on a chain. Good fine and rare.

Aboriginal breastplates inscribed on round discs are much rarer than the normal crescent shaped breastplates. See 'Poignant Regalia, 19th Century Aboriginal Images & Breastplates' by Tania Cleary no.174, page 123 for another example.
