Estimate $150
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $250

ANONYMOUS ISSUE, (86 B.C.), silver denarii, Rome mint, (3.86, 3.76, 3.80 g), obv. laureate head of Apollo to right, thunderbolt below, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, (S.266, RSC 226, Cr.350A/2, Syd.723). One with banker's mark on cheek, otherwise fine - very fine. (3)

These coins are connected stylistically with the signed denarii of Gargonius, Ogulnius and Vergilius. However the reason for this extremely late anonymous issue is unclear.

All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
