CRETE, Phaistos, (c.330-320 B.C.), silver stater, (11.96 g), obv. young Herakles standing facing head to right, holding club and bow, lion skin in field to left, barleycorn to lower right, rev. within a laurel wreath, a bull butting to left, (S.3200, BMC 6 [p.62, Pl.XV, 2], SNG Cop. 512, Svoronos 21 [p. 258, Pl.XXIII obverse], Le Rider "Cretoises" Tresors 1953 Pl.III, 18 [same dies]). Good very fine and rare.
