ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.320-290 B.C.), silver stater, (7.90 g), obv. head of Demeter to left, with necklace, wreathed with barley leaves, rev. corn ear, META to right, hayfork above stalk on left, and **D*A to left under stalk, (cf.S.416, Johnston [NN&M 164] Class C, 5.17, SNG ANS 456, [same dies]). Off centred on obverse, otherwise good fine/good very fine and very scarce.
