TRIO: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 155 Dvr. W.K. Devine 12 Bn. A.I.F. All medals impressed. Heavy contact marks on second medal, otherwise fine - very fine.

William Keith Devine, quarryman, age 19, born at Collinsville, Tas; Enl.24Aug1914 at Brighton, Tas; Emb.20Oct1914; some disciplinary action against him for rule infringements; RTA 23Nov1918; Disch.24Jan1919; WWII: Enl.21Oct1942 at Brighton, Tas; Disch.30Mar1944 Age Disability. Entitled to War Medal 1939-45.

In March 1930 William Devine claimed his medals were stolen by a young boy who lived nearby and that the house the boy lived in burnt to the ground, so probably the medals were buried amongst the rubble. There is no indication that he was ever issued with any replacement medals so perhaps he later found the original medals which appear to be those here offered.
