MEMORIAL PLAQUE WWI, named to Arthur Lucas. A few tone spots, otherwise extremely fine.

2Lt Arthur Lucas, clerk age 33, born at Adelaide; Enl.06Sep1915 at Keswick, Sth Aust, in 50Bn; to Cpl 16Sep1915; to Sgt 01Jan1916; to CSM 01Feb1916; to 2Lt 01May1916; Emb.12Aug1916; to France 18Oct1916; Trf to 27Bn 25Jan1917; KIA 02Mar1917 at Warlencourt; The D.16 Statement from his CO states, '2Lt Arthur Lucas was killed in action at Warlencourt whilst participating in an attack on a German position. He was buried in a sunken road leading to the main Bapaume road in the village of Warlencourt. A cross was erected to his memory.'
