William James Murphy, surgical instrument maker, age 18, born at Walhalla, Vic; Enl.22May1916 at Melbourne, Vic; Emb.28Jul1916; Wounded 19Sep1918 while AWL, GSW thumb (severe), France; to be tried on charges of Desertion and Self Inflicted Injuries while a member of the Aust Corps Working Party; by 20Mar1919 due to difficulty in obtaining evidence and since the ACWP had been disbanded some months prior, it was decided not to proceed; RTA 20Jun1919; Disemb.06Aug1919; Disch.20Sep1919.
