ANONYMOUS SERIES, (225-212 B.C.), silver didrachm (quadrigatus), (6.67 g), uncertain mint (possibly Rome), obv. laureate janiform head of the Dioscuri, border of dots, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, driven by Victory, Jupiter holds sceptre and hurls thunderbolt, in exergue ROMA incuse on solid tablet, (S.31, Cr.28/3, Syd. 65, RSC 23). Attractive old cabinet toning, good very fine or better and very scarce.

Ex D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Spink Noble Auction Sale 41 (lot 2217).
