ANCIENT GREEK, assorted issues in silver from the 5th - 1st century B.C., Celtic Coinage, Danube Region Eastern Celts, Imitation of Philip III, (c.2nd - 1st century B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.90 g), obv. convex field with remains of a crude head of Heracles to right, rev. traces of Zeus seated to left holding eagle and sceptre, to right **[FILIPPOU], (cf.S.210, Sammlung Lanz 922 [same dies]); Peloponnesos, Argolis, ARGOS, Silver Hemidrachm, or Attic triobol, after 320's-270's B.C. (2.42 g), Obv. Forepart of wolf at bay to left, Rev. A with A and P either side at top with crescent below all within shallow incuse square, (cf.Sear 2794, BCD 1094 [p.269, LHS 96], BMC 60 [p.141], SNG Cop. 29 [Pl.1], Mycenae Pl.9, 19); another Elis, Olympia, (352 - 348 B.C.), 108th Olympiad, silver hemidrachm, (2.29 g), Obv. laureate head of Zeus to right, Rev. F A across with eagle standing right, with olive leaf to right, (cf.S.2895 [.267, £150], BCD 143 [p.59 LEU 90, May 10, 2004 same dies], BMC 84); Ionia, Kolophon, 490-400 B.C., silver tetartemorion, (Milne states a quarter obol), (0.17 g), obv. Artemis head to right, laureate, rev. TE monogram in incuse square, (S.-, Milne 31 [NN&M 96, 1941 p.40], Traite 1911); Mysia, Parion, (c.480 B.C.), silver three-quarter drachm, (2.90 g), obv. gorgoneion facing, rev. incuse square containing cruciform pattern with pellet in centre, (S.3917, BMC 1-13, SNG Cop. 256, SNG Von Aulock 1318). Very good - extremely fine, all in packets with Noble Numismatics full description, Elis coin holed but rare. (5)
