CONSTANS II, (641-668), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, issued 641-646, (4.41 g), 7th officina, obv. bust facing of Constans beardless, wearing chlamys and crown, around dN CONStAN TINUS PP AV, rev. cross potent on base and three steps, below CONOBS, around VICTORIA AVGUH, (S.940, DOW 3, MIB 7). Minor weakness on obverse legend, otherwise good very fine/extremely with some mint bloom, very scarce.

Ex D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Spink Noble Sale 42 (lot 2061).
