PHOCAS, (602-610), gold solidus, (4.44 g), struck at Constantinople mint, 10th Officina, issued 603-607, obv. crowned facing bust holding cross, DN FOCAS PERP AVI, rev. Angel facing left holding P headed cross, and globe supporting a cross, around VICTORIA AVCUI, CONOB in exergue, (S.618, DOC 5j, MIB 7). Good very fine and scarce.

Ex D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Spink Noble Sale 40 (lot 2628).
