MACEDON, Kingdom of Philip III, (323-316 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.176 grams), Sardes mint, issued 323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right with lion skin, rev. Zeus seated to left, eagle in outstretched hand, bee to left in field, **AQ* monogram under throne, to right **FILIPP[OU]*, dotted border, (cf.S.6751, Price P104, BMC P104a-c, M.P72). Well centred, very fine and a scarce variety.
