MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip II, silver tetradrachm, 359-336 B.C., issued 359-355/4 B.C. at Pella Mint, Pella period IA, (14.25 g), obv. laureate head of Zeus to right, rev. king on horse wearing kausia pacing to left, his right hand raised, trace of **FIL[IP] POU* around, below monogram of T**P*M, (S.6677 [p.618], Muller 266, Le Rider 72, [Pl.3, p.13-14], obv. die No.D45, rev. die No.R58, [5 examples known]). Cut on horse, otherwise very fine and very rare.
