ITALY, Bruttium, Kaulonia, silver stater, 460-450 B.C. (Kraay chronology), (7.90 g), obv. Apollo naked walking to right, before him a small stag standing to right, looking back, KAV**L* behind downwards reversed, rev. stag standing to right, before a sapling growing, [K]AV retrograde above, (S.462, Hartwig Collection March 1910 [lot 420 same dies], Schlessinger XIII [Hermitage Duplicates, sold 1935 lot 166 same dies], Noe 83 [same dies]). Good fine and rare.

Ex Alan Jordan Collection and purchased from Noble Numismatics Sale 77 (lot 3097). Noe notes that this rare series with this die combination is known for four examples and these not in any public collections.
