GROUP OF FOUR: Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) (GRI) Civil issue; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; Coronation Medal 1937. The first and the last medals unnamed as issued, 2-Lieut. G.G. O'Keefe. A.I.F. on second and third medals. Named medals impressed. Display mounted on board the last three swing mounted, extremely fine.

Together with matching set of swing mounted miniatures for last three medals also matching riband bar and another for WWI pair; Rising Sun collar badge; Australia metal titles (2); AIF Returned from Active Service badge WWI; uniface gilt medal (24mm) featuring a bulldog draped in a British flag and around, 'To Hell With The Kaiser'.

6855 2nd Lt G.G. O'Keefe was recorded in the AIF HQs (London) Administrative Registry medical personnel files 1917-1919. Later, Rev Canon G.G. O'Keefe was the Headmaster of the Church of England's All Souls' School at Charters Towers, Queensland in 1928. In 1951 he was Secretary of Eliza Hall Trust for the advancement of education, medicine, charity and religion. This trust had a world class medical research institute in Melbourne under the directorship of Sir Macfarlane Burnett. A portrait of Rev Canon G.G. O'Keefe OBE by Douglas Dundas was a finalist in the 1969 Archibald Prize competition.
