Strange/ in recognition of his good conduc/ and faithful service/ as Pay Sergeant/ of his Compy./ Melbourne/ Feby. 1870'. Plus two European military enamels. Fine. (3)

Robert J. Beauman, born 1/4/1843, served in New Zealand during the Waikato War, then in NSW military forces from 1870's, retired Hon. Captain 1/9/1902.
