ITALY, Sicily, Sicilia (Regno), Filippo II di Spagna, (1554-1598), silver four Tari, 32mm, (11.64 g), Messina mint, Tommaso Paulillo, mintmaster, dated 1558, obv. bareheaded and armored bust right of Philip II, traces of saltires below bust, rev. Crowned eagle facing, head left, with wings displayed; T P below wings, date 1588 in legend, (MIR 317/3, Spahr 20/22 [obv./rev.]). Very fine, rare and toned, double struck.

Ex CNG Auction Sale 96 (lot 1344) and previously from the Archer M. Huntington Collection (HSA 1001.1.1646).
