LANCASHIRE, Cark Cotton Works, four shillings and sixpence, 1787, a Charles III Mexico City Mint eight reales, 1780FF, countermarked on the obverse 'Cark Cotton Works, 1787' in four lines in relief on a serrated edge circle and similarly 'four shillings and six pence' on the reverse (Manville 101). Very fine and extremely rare, only six known.

Ex Seaby, September 1972 (5905), Pastor Rowlands, Spink Sale 3 (lot 721), W.J.Noble (lot 1568) and K.A.Hicks collections.
