GOLDFISH CLUB, embroidered badge. Extremely fine.

The Goldfish Club was formed in England in 1942 by Robbie Robertson, chief draughtsman of P.B.Cow & Co, one of the world's largest manufacturers of air/sea rescue equipment. It had the approval of the British Ministry of Defence. Membership was open to airmen of the RAF and its allies and was made retrospective to anyone who 'ditched into the drink' and who owed their life to the services of the collapsible rubber dinghy. Eligibility was later altered to include those who were afloat in Mae West life jackets instead of dinghies.
