Ex Spink (London) March 1993, Glendinnings (London) February 1997 and Noble Numismatics Sale 80 lot 2096.

Private Dooley arrived in New Zealand with the contingent which left from Melbourne in 1863, serving with the British 40th Regiment of Foot in the New Zealand Maori Wars. He served in the Te Awamutu and Waikoto theatres from 1863-1864 and was under fire during the engagements at Rangiriri and Orakau. It is believed that he left New Zealand in 1864, subsequently being awarded the New Zealand Medal dated 1863-1864 (medal roll WO100/18).
