IRELAND, Bird (rooster) left/Murphy Bride Street Dublin, crown above harp? in copper (27mm) with brass plug insert on reverse, crude dies and flan cracked (from overstriking on a worn halfpenny?); Sphinx above crown within wreath/Edward Jones Dame Street Dublin, in copper (29mm) plug or solder in centre of reverse, a regimental button die(?). Both unpublished fair, good fine and extremely rare, the first possibly unique. (2)

Ex W.J.Noble Collection, Sale 61B (lot 593) and previously purchased from C.J.Denton in 1986. The first also ex H.D.Gibbs Collection (sold with his original envelope) and Spink Sale 43 (lot 362 part).
